Gender-based violence takes many forms, including physical and sexual assault, coercive control, economic abuse, tech-facilitated violence, and harassment. It can occur in your home, your workplace, online or anywhere else. If you or someone you know is experiencing gender-based violence, or is otherwise in crisis, help is available. Provides services to women who have been victims of physical, sexual, or emotional abuse. Accessible to women and their children in the entire Rainy River District. Safe and immediate transportation can be arranged for women anywhere in the district, any time, day or night.

Women’s Shelter, Saakaate House – Kenora, ON (24/7)

Shelter for women and their children who are experiencing violence in their lives and seek safety. Offers support and safety from a feminist perspective in an environment in which women can make informed decisions.
